1sts & 2nds have great wins
The 1st and 2nd XI's both had magnificent wins over the weekend. The 1sts, who were winless ubtil the game before Christmas have now made a finals berth a real possibility by beating top of the ladder Altona Roosters in a gutsy win. Best players included Satinder Gill , Birinder Sandhu, Irfan Bhatti, Matthew Montesano and the Hussain brothers. Everyone contributed to the win and the team now faces Kingsvill Baptists in a must win match this round.
The 2nds had a similarly good win with JB Singh taking 5 wickets, and Amit Nayyer, Paul Adami and Richard Phillips also making good contributions.
The 4ths had a bye this week and unfortunately the 3rds were beaten outright.
2nd XI Fixture Change
With the Avondale Heights Gift being run at canning street on 4 February, the 2nd XI match has been rescheduled to be played over this coming Saturday (28/1) and Sunday (29/1).
The match will be played at Canning Street.
This should also provide the club with some additional volunteers to make the gift race a huge success.
For anyone wanting to help out on the day please call Paul Adami on 0411 779 688, or Wayne Kerr on 0418 391 492.

Volunteers required for Gift
Volunteers for the upcoming Avondale Heights Gift Race are required to help out with general admin duties on the day.
Duties include helping judge the winners, collecting bibs from the runners, collecting money for the car parking, running drinks between the bars and handling the cash collected on the day.
This event earns some much needed cash for our club and it is a great opportunity for senior players, junior players and junior parents to get involved in the club activities.

For those that have paid up, thank you very much.
For those who haven't paid - time is now up.
Senior captains have been given a list of those players still to pay their fees and will be requesting payment be made immediately.

Volunteers needed to fill the Junior Coordinator or Senior Committee roles to be vacated at Seasons End
At the Christmas Party, Paul Adami also announced that he would not be standing for re-election as President next season.
With Chris Dougherty's resignation announced in November that will leave all official positions of the club vacant at the end of this season.
Some people have spoken to Chris about the junior operations and it is promising that the junior program will continue.
The Senior Section of the club however is in desperate need for people to take up the roles of President, Treasurer, Secretary and Vice-President.
As Paul said at the Christmas function, if we get more people to put up their hand then the work load can be spread more equitably amongst the committee. As it is at the moment, the work of the club falls on too few.
There is only 5 weeks of the season left once teams return from the Christmas break, and time is fast running out if volunteers are interested in taking up offers to shadow Paul and Chris for the remainder of the season.
If you are interested in fulfilling any of the roles or even sharing them with others, please approach Chris 0432 655 403 or Paul 0411 779 688 to make arrangements.
